Road trip to Miami and Fort pierce for a couple days with Sam!

Sam Called me up and said he was going to Biscayne to get on some bone fish and as soon as he finished asking me I was in! So I drove to his house in Apollobeach and then loaded up his car and went to his buddy's house in Matlacha. Their was a ton of little snook and tarpon ripping it up in his light.. We were sucked in and watched for a good while.. Sam Made a little video messing with his camera... Photobucket

We crashed out and woke up at 3:30 and drove to the boat ramp in Biscayne bay and met Joe Gonzalez and loaded our gear on the Hells bay Marquesa and off we went we didn't really start seeing the fish till the tide started ripping in.  We were seeing some life some rays sharks the stuff you want to see in the beautiful  shallow crystal clear water.  We kept seeing a few things sitting deep in the holes off the flat Joe was poling us along and we seen three permit spook as soon as we seen them.. Minutes later I spotted a single and mad the cast and he crushed the crab and dumped my 3000 Stella loaded with 10 Lb braid in no time gained some line and he did it a feel times he stayed rapping me around a sea turtle I could feel it rubbing on the turtle so I got it free.  Probably after a 20 minute fight or so finally landed my first permit! About 15 minutes later Joe spotted another one and made the casted swam my crab up he smoked it came un-hooked spun around and ate it again 5 feet from the boat! Awesome visual!  Sam got some killer photos!  Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket
Permit are an very strong game fish! We then tucked behind and Island with a storm approaching and were able to chum up some bonefish and I got 1 and sam got 2 bone fish.  Thoose fish are quick the came on the flat and if you weren't locked in on them and made the right cast they were gone in a second..  We then headed in Joe Gonzalez is a very good guide and I was stoked he was able to get me on first permit and bone fish.
We then ran over to Fort Pierce and we settled in a hotel close to Fort Pierce and met up with his buddy Henry who we were going out fishing with in the morning.  We met up with him and his buddy before day light and I went with Henry and Sam went on the other buddy Tom.  We fished the Fort Pierce inlet and we lost a few snook and caught some nice snapper school masters little carbos and they got a close legal mutton couple small snook.

We got broke off a few times seen some decent snook and Henry showed me a couple good areas to fish over there too!  I filleted up the snapper we had a restaurant cook them up for us then we drove to Stuart and went to the Doa factory hung out with a couple groups of guides and fisherman chatted for a while.  Sam Got a Video of mark showing rigging techniques with his video camera and got it all edited up... Check it out!  Mark the owner of DOA rigging techniques
