Cody and I both were going to fish the offshore Loop tournament but the weather wasn't fit i heard it was 6-8 pretty much for the whole loop tournament.. So we did the inshore tournament together we were able to start fishing at 12:01 am so we started catching bait at around 10 and black out both wells with shad,whitebait, pin fish and lady fish. Our first spot I got 2 21 inch trout and cody got a 31 inch snook.  We came down the beach it was weird they had the pier shut down with just one light on the end one it was jammed with snook but so much bait we couldn't get on to eat.. So we kept moving we were going to start snook fishing and we seen tarpon just going ballistic this went on from 3:00 in the morning till sunrise.  I landed a 45 lb fish which was fun we had a few other throw the hook baits kept getting smashed there was literally hundreds of tarpons just eating baits I probably got splashed a dozen times or so by tarpon thats how close they were they ranged from 15 Lb fish to over 100 Lb fish..  Cody got a nice 37 inch snook and a keeper grouper and a 15 Lb Goliath too...

Sunrise we ran down the beach and went to where we had some 5 to 10 lb tarpon dialed in Cody hooked one and it frayed through the leader on the jumps..We tried a couple more spots and techniques grabbed a couple snapper tried a could redfish spots mid day and got a couple sharks..  While we were back to the dock at Cody's house we staggered baits all up and down the dock while we were cleaning up the boat and had one serious fish run all over the docks around a couple pilings and ran 75 yards of line off and spit it..  We had one more rod out and we both showered real quick and I ran out to the dock and the line was tight set the hook and got a decent red... We took a picture and hauled to the Vinoy to make it on time..
It was a cool tournament because you had to use strategy and it was on a point system and you were allowed 6 fish total.  We were bummed we lost three tarpon that would have totally sealed the deal but we ended getting 3 rd place and winning $1000..
