Double On Wahooos and Limited out on other species on the G force!
Friday Joe called me up to see if wanted to go out on Jason Gale's 27 Contender I was in for sure. We ran out offshore and loaded up both wells in the tender full of pinners and grunts and runners. Fueled the boat and met a guy who had shad he just caught and bought a cooler full off him. Got the boat cleaned and Iced down and met back their at 4. Got the boat in at 5 O'Neil and picked up our pinfish that we had in a pin and made the run it was glass calm so I got to sleep in the bean bag the whole way out. Solid hour and a half out... First stop marked the jacks and jumped up grabbed the butterfly rod and got a legal jack after a couple twitches. We ended up getting our limit of jacks and red snapper in no time.. We got a few really nice scamps too.. 
We Bounced around to a couple other spots and got a couple nice gags a 16 Lb fish and got I got a 20 Lb Gag. With it being so hot our baits were dying so Tony was throwing the half dead pinners out and the jacks were going ballistic.. We all were just watching because we had our limit of jacks and then we seen the electric blue stripes all light up on a big wahoo. So Joe grabbed the stinger rig we had rigged up he put out a runner on him at first but the jacks were going crazy so he reeled it in and put out a b mack and the wahoo smoked it and just starting ripping line. So we started chasing it and I said I'm gonna get a double real quick and started drifting a dead shad out the back and got smoked and ripping line and broke the 20 Lb Mono. So I scrambled around rigged a long 35 Lb Flourocarbon leader and then the stinger and drifted it out the back and watched him come 60 Mph and smoke it and take line like I have never heard.. SO Joe's on the bow im on the stern and we got 2 big wahoo running different directions on king fish gear.. So I had to painful start tightening down my drag one turn at a time and cupping the spool because he had 350-400 yards out so Tony was driving the boat and we had to go in reverse then forward to tire them out and gain line on both fish..
After about a 30-45 minute fight both fish are in about the same time.. And they look so sick in the water boutside all light up Joe and I are going over under and all that and they stick joey's fish and rip it in the boat and they were celebrating I was like dude mines still right here so J ripped the Gaff out the one fish on the deck and stuck my fish and ripped it we all were stoked! J was like whats up with all this line around me it was the same fish ate my baits twice must of had a nick in the line.. We got em though! My first Wahoo!
We trolled around and got a Black fin Tuna and bonita and Jacks and a couple other knock downs as fast as you could get them out. It was about 2 i sh and we started heading back in and passed out in the bean bag the way in.
