Camping / Shark fishing for a night!

During the past week Joe and I have been getting a ton of Bonita on our offshore trips.   So we got the idea lets go camp out and paddle the Bonita out for shark bait.  After we got in from the trip and we talked to Hale (the owner of Eagle Parasail and the owner of the boat Joe and I run for the business) about doing the camping out and shark fishing  and he got all excited he wanted to take his wife and his 2 kids out there too.  We planned to get out Saturday afternoon we got all the stuff together and loaded down the 32 Chris Craft Scorpion with all the camping gear and strapped the New Tarpon 140 and Tarpon 160 I just got the day before.  We set up camp just as the sun was going down unloaded everything off the boat got the tents up and started a fire.  My brother Jeremy  and my buddy Tony also came out on a  Ghennoe. The Kids were having a blast cruising around in my kayaks up and down the beach.. Photobucket Photobucket

By about 10 we got all settled in with out camping gear and we started paddling out our baits.  I have learned how to do the shark fishing like this from some of the Texas guys when they come down here.  The left me a few rigs and we were able to duplicate them and they also gave me some sand weights which are key for anchoring of out baits.  No time at all we paddled out the baits and we had 2 hits in about 10 minutes then about a half hour later we had a good run and we were able to all take turns fighting the shark we got him in it was a about a 5 foot bull shark. We Ended up catching another smaller one shark and messed with the snook that were cruising the beach the whole night. it ended up being a very nice night bugs weren't to bad but after the moon set we didn't get anymore shark hits.

We had some Bacon egg and cheese sandwiches and loaded all the stuff on the mother ship. I walked the beach and tried for all the snook but with the weekend traffic they didn't want to cooperate I was able to get a nice little flounder.. Photobucket
We loaded up and cruised around the bay the rest of the day and fished a couple different areas it was a fun trip and we will definently be doing it again real soon!
