Matlacha For a couple days

Went down to Matlacha with My good buddy Jd. I met up at his house in Venice and we drove to Matlacha in the morning.  The wind was coming out of the south and strong so the water came up a ton.  So what were going for were tailing reds and that was shot.  But I did sight cast a jumbo jack 5 feet away from me.  It took off a solid 150 yards or more no joke in one direction.  Finally pumped in the and started gaining my 10 Lb braid back.

They kept moving around us a bunch huge schools pushing all over the flat waking even in the white caps.
I got a few reds but not what we were hoping for that for sure.  Called it a day early hung out without and stayed at my buddy Frank's house.
Saturday we got up early and totally different conditions foggy glass calm. So we put in off the floating dock and started paddling to where we needed to be and in time I see a nice tail pop up in front of me.  Already a good sign just a few minutes into the deal.  The tide was nice and super low what we hoped for and we got to where we wanted to fish.  There were 3 guys wading already where we wanted to be as the sun was trying to come out.  We seen a few tails but nothing to crazy on the end of the out goer but as soon as the tide started pushing in the came on the flat in force.  Tailing with their whole back out the water.  I also sight casted a 6 Lb Trout on the Gold Split Tail 3 feet away from me seen him come up and inhale it I thought he was a red.  Anyways here are some of the pictures!

I'm not as good of a camera man as Jd but he gave me a few pointers.  So hopefully I will be taking better pics.
Swung by the Florida Sportsman show in Fort Myers on my way home Chatted with a bunch of people included Mark Nichols and Blair and we are going to try to get together real soon and do some fishing.
