Went Down to Everglades with Sam!

Friday Morning I met up with sam at 5 in the morning at a circle K in Palmetto then we began the trip.  We got to where we staying at the Parkway Village the owner took the Maverick off the trailer with a crane and lifted the boat in the water.  We dropped our bags and we were off.  It was a real low tide and and strong cold winds.  We ran the front side and it was a wet cold ride.  We found the creek we wanted to focus on and we caught a bunch of smaller snook the Mirror minnow and the swimming image were the deal!  It was cool fishing in a small creek with snook popping every where and gators layed up on the shore lines. We ran back luckily we were following a guy who knew his way around.  I highly recommend going down there with a nice Gps system with the depths.  There is shoals and Oyster bars and trees down everywhere.

Saturday Morning we got up on the bright and started out in the creek we fished the day before.  We caught about 15 or so snook and we decided to check something else out.  We ate a apple looked at the map and were going to check out another creek.  On the way to the creek we both decided to work a shore line.  Right off the bat he got a snook then I got one, then I seen a fishing cruising I presented the mirror minnow to him and he crushed it.   We then started seeing them by the hundreds.  Then for the next couple hours we got into an amazing artificial snook bite.   I was using the Yozuri Pins minnow and working it real aggressive and they were fighting over it.  We probably caught 40-50 snook.  It was very cool being able to sight cast them and watch them fight over it. We decided to let them settle down we found some more snook.   Sam had a snag so he was trolling motor us in there and he hit the ledge and knocked the trolling motor off the front.   At the same time I was working the shoreline and I had a mid slot snook on.  We ghetto rigged up the trolling motor on the push pole with zip ties and continued to fish some more.  On the way back we decided to hit the fish again on the way in.  Sam push poled me along and I was able to sight cast 5 or so more.  We decided to head in and call it a day.  Got back got everything of the boat ate some food and headed back home.    It was a fun trip down there.  It's an amazing place and I really appreciate Sam inviting me down there and catch snook in the middle of no where!
