Captain Mel Berman's Slam Cup 2 tournament

Today was the Captain Mel's Slam cup 2 tournament.  Everyone had to meet up at Fort De Soto boat ramp at 6:00 in the morning. They game you the captains bag and a card with your number that has to be in the photos.  After they told you that you can leave I helped load up a Tarpon 140  from my truck to Luke's car for him to use and then I was off.  I headed down the beach stopped by Madeira Beach Marina and picked up my big pin fish and shrimp I had caught the day before and headed down to the beach.  I put in with the sun not up yet and got a nice 32-33 inch red on a shrimp.  Had something take my pin fish under a cork and cut it instantly that had to be a king fish.  Seen the big reds  schooled up but I couldn't get them to eat.   With all the weekend boat traffic people kept running over the schools of fish.  I seen a couple pods of Tarpon and huge schools of big jacks.  I finally was a able to get another big red around 33-34 on a pin fish  and tried for a little big longer and headed in.    My buddy Sam has some pictures from the tournament on his site http://saltyshores.com/simplemachinesforum/index.php?topic=141.15 .  If I could have got another one of those big girls I would have had 3 largest fish won.  But Oh well.
Good tournament and met a couple of new people.  I also donated a Charter and Stowaway ended up getting so i will be getting him out in the yak soon.
