Got Rich out before the front came through..

We Both knew the front was going to be coming through today..  We had a window in the morning so we went out first thing in the morning having a nice low tide.   Got a couple small trout that were in the pot holes. Then the wind started picking up I found the reds along the protected shoreline. Shortly after Rich Got one to eat.

It was a windy day I knew I was going to have a low tide and strong north east wind.  It was like a light switch as soon as the tide started coming in the everything turned on! I ended up getting 15 trout up to 20 inches and 6 redfish up to 26 inches and a 13 1/2 inch flounder all while throwing the 1/4 ounce CAL jig in the Golden brim.   My Flounder I was hoping to place but I was .02 to from 3rd.  Photobucket

Big Trout getting fired up on the Spook!

My good buddy Spencer and myself went out in the kayaks.  It was a nice overcast foggy kind of day and we were Both having good success throwing the Bone Super spook jr.  We both got some real nice trout and spencer got a nice upper slot red on the spook. The fish were in real shallow water 6 inches to a foot with the mullet.  Fish ranged from 18-25 inches with a bunch of action exploding on the spook! Photobucket Photobucket
This fish have became more aggressive with the warming weather!

Got Jon on his second biggest snook

Jon Shine from Kayakfishingmagazine.net came down from New Jersey.  We met up in the morning and I had ice on my windshield. We found a bunch of big reds and trout.  We were able to get a few to cooperate but they were not to active with the cold water.  We relocated and we got on a few jacks and lady fish.  Just after the sun went down we  each got a couple snook in the mid 20s to eat.  Jon caught a nice 32 inch snook making it his second biggest snook. We were bummed we didn't get any sails but we pinned up all the bait  and were ready for another day! Saturday it rained all day so we searched all over Miami all day to get more winter apparel that was tough!  It was record low for Miami 36 degrees and 30 mph winds.  We all were snow man gear out.  We had a good crew Cody,Jack, Alonzo from Miami  and his buddy Billy that is a Mate on a 63 Bertram over in Miami Jack sisters boyfriend and myself!  Photobucket
We sabikied up a bunch more Thread fins inside Government cut and Ran offshore it was a cold one!    Billy had High wind kites that had holes in them  still had a hard time getting them up with the wind! We had one Sailfish cut the leader.   We ran 15 Miles up to the North found a bunch of birds working bait.  I threw out a small pilchard on the spinner feed him line cranked down nice Sailfish in the air.  While I was fighting the fish there was a couple other free jumpers in the area!  Got him in after a good 15 minute fight or so.  We had another one shortly after hit the kite bait I dropped it back to him and cranked down and fish in the air. We handed the rod off to Louis Jack's Sisters boyfriend for his first sailfish!
